Riga Gets Two New Ski Routes as Winter Flights Grow

Riga Airport’s winter schedule brings two new direct flights for snow holidays and extra departures on several busy European routes. airBaltic is adding Kuusamo in Finland and Turin in northern Italy, while Ryanair and other carriers are expanding services to the UK and connections through Warsaw. Norwegian is retaining two Scandinavian routes, and the airport will serve 63 destinations during the colder months.
Riga’s Winter Flights: New Routes, Dates and Fares
- Season: 25 October 2026–27 March 2027.
- Network: 63 destinations, 30 countries, 11 scheduled airlines.
- New Riga–Kuusamo: airBaltic, Mondays and Fridays, 11 December 2026–28 March 2027.
- New Riga–Turin: airBaltic, Saturdays, 30 January–20 March 2027.
- Starting fares: airBaltic advertises one-way tickets from €75 on both routes, subject to availability.
- Continuing: Norwegian to Bergen and Gothenburg; FlyOne Asia to Tashkent twice weekly.
- Booking: airBaltic online for both new routes.
Ryanair increases its Dublin flights from four to six weekly, Milan from six to eight and Malaga from three to five. It also adds departures to Barcelona, Malta, East Midlands, Leeds and London. LOT increases Warsaw flights from 17 to 20 weekly. Uzbekistan Airways will serve Tashkent four times a week, separately from FlyOne Asia's twice-weekly service. Timetables and fares can be checked with the individual airlines.
Kuusamo is the nearest airport for Ruka's ski slopes and winter trails. The airport bus to Ruka village costs €15.90 per adult each way; book at least 24 hours ahead to secure a seat. Walk-up passengers can board only if places remain. Turin offers access to the Piedmont Alps and the city's museums. Trains reach Porta Susa in about 30 minutes for €3.70.
Friday–Monday Kuusamo flights can work for a three-night break; the Saturday Turin schedule is better suited to a week away. airBaltic’s Economy MINI and BASIC fares exclude checked luggage, and ski equipment costs from €39.99 per set one way if added when booking, rising to €75 at the airport. Flydubai’s potential return to Dubai remains conditional, so it should not be treated as a confirmed connection.
