London NYE Fireworks Tickets Go on Sale but Views Vary by Price

Tickets for London's New Year's Eve fireworks went on sale on 23 October, opening bookings for the 31 December display along the Thames. But securing a ticket is only part of the decision, as the viewing zones offer different perspectives of the London Eye, even at the same price. A second batch is planned, although City Hall has yet to announce its release date.
Ticket prices depend on the viewing area and whether the buyer qualifies for a London resident discount. Blue faces the London Eye directly, while Green sits immediately behind it and costs less. Pink and White cost the same as Blue but offer side views. Every zone has its own entrance gate, so location also affects which side of the Thames visitors must approach from.

To claim the £20 Londoner discount, enter a postcode matching the payment card's billing address, in capitals without spaces; proof of address may be checked. Friends must book the same zone because switching areas is prohibited. The Orange zone on Albert Embankment has accessible facilities and seating. Other zones are standing-only, and backpacks and suitcases are banned. The main buyer may need a photo ID.
Before booking, consider how to get back to your accommodation. Several central London bridges will close, and station access may change, making your chosen bank of the Thames important. Anyone unable to attend can list tickets for face-value resale through Ticketmaster, but a buyer is not guaranteed. The second release date will appear on City Hall's event page, so avoid unofficial sellers.
