Wizz Air's Three New Spain Routes Take Off from Luton

Wizz Air is bringing three more Spanish destinations into London Luton’s winter schedule, with direct flights to Málaga, Granada and Asturias starting within days. The expansion gives holidaymakers a choice between the Costa del Sol, Andalucía’s historic cities and northern Spain’s Atlantic coast. Two routes reach regions that previously required a different London airport or an onward journey, making short breaks easier to organise.
Three Luton–Spain Routes: Dates and Flight Times
Published winter schedules list the following Wizz Air UK services. All times are local and may change:
- Málaga (AGP): From 25 October, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday: Luton 16:00, Málaga 20:05; return 20:50–22:50.
Sunday: Luton 14:35, Málaga 18:40; return 19:25–21:25.
- Granada (GRX): From 27 October, Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Tuesday: Luton 14:50, Granada 18:35; return 19:15–20:55.
Saturday: Luton 06:15, Granada 10:00; return 10:40–12:20.
- Asturias (OVD): Three weekly flights, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
Tuesday, Thursday: Luton 12:20, Asturias 15:15; return 15:55–16:45.
Sunday: Luton 13:55, Asturias 16:50; return 17:35–18:25.
- Departure airport: London Luton (LTN).
- Fares: From £26.99 one way, subject to availability.
- Booking: Wizz Air.
One-way fares are advertised from £26.99, although that price will not be available on every flight. Check both directions on Wizz Air before choosing accommodation, particularly for Granada’s twice-weekly service. The basic ticket includes one under-seat bag measuring up to 40 x 30 x 20 cm; larger cabin bags and checked luggage cost extra. easyJet also flies Luton–Málaga, offering another fare to compare.
Málaga offers the Alcazaba fortress and Picasso Museum alongside Costa del Sol beaches. Granada brings the Alhambra and access to the Sierra Nevada mountains, where skiing depends on seasonal conditions. Asturias is the gateway to Oviedo’s old town, Gijón’s waterfront and the Picos de Europa. The routes open three quite different holidays, rather than simply adding more flights to Spain’s familiar beach resorts.
Ground transport matters as much as the airfare. Málaga Airport’s C1 train reaches the city centre in around 12 minutes; Granada Airport’s bus takes roughly 45 minutes. Asturias Airport has Alsa buses serving Oviedo, Gijón and Avilés. With only two weekly Granada departures, missed connections can complicate a short trip, so compare arrival times and transfer options before paying for a hotel.
