Ljubljana Adds New London and Tenerife Flights This Winter

Ljubljana Airport is adding direct links to London Luton and Tenerife for the winter season, offering more ways to reach Slovenia from the UK and escape to the Canary Islands without a connection. The expansion follows a record summer for Slovenia’s main airport, which handled more passengers in August than in any previous month. Further international routes are planned for 2027.
Ljubljana's New Winter Flights and Routes
- Winter network: 22 direct destinations with 18 airlines, from 25 October until late March 2027.
- London Luton: easyJet launches on 26 October, with up to three weekly flights (Monday, Wednesday and Friday). The first flight leaves Ljubljana at 11:50 and arrives at 13:10.
- Tenerife South: airBaltic's winter service begins on 30 October, with Friday flights currently scheduled. Departure from Ljubljana at 14:20, arriving at 18:30.
- Booking: Check easyJet and airBaltic for available dates and fares. All times are local.
The Luton route adds another option alongside easyJet’s existing Gatwick service, which currently offers departures on more days. Tenerife joins Gran Canaria among the Canary Islands served directly from Ljubljana. Since the new flights operate on selected days rather than daily, a short break may be easier to arrange through Gatwick. Check both outbound and return flights before reserving accommodation.
London Luton Airport is linked to St Pancras by train and the four-minute DART shuttle, with the fastest combined journeys taking around 32 minutes. At Ljubljana Airport, direct buses serve the city centre and Lake Bled, with some Bled journeys taking around half an hour. Tenerife South puts the island’s southern beach resorts within reach without changing planes elsewhere in Europe.
Looking further ahead, easyJet plans to start Berlin flights on 7 April 2027, TUI has announced Brussels from 28 March and Düsseldorf from 4 May, and United expects to launch Newark on 12 May. Those future services broaden Slovenia’s options, but winter travellers should focus on the dates available now.
