Luxembourg Lands New Nonstop Flights to Abu Dhabi

Etihad Airways’ new nonstop flights between Luxembourg and Abu Dhabi are giving travellers in the Grand Duchy and neighbouring Belgium, France and Germany another way to reach the Gulf. Launched on 21 October 2026, the route also offers onward connections to destinations across Asia and Australia. Travellers can also take advantage of Etihad’s hotel stopover programme, which allows them to spend a night or two in Abu Dhabi before continuing their journey.

Etihad’s complimentary stopover offer covers one or two hotel nights when an eligible connecting itinerary includes 24–48 hours in Abu Dhabi. The offer requires a return ticket on Etihad-operated flights, with selected three- or four-star hotels subject to availability. Hotel reservations must be made at least 72 hours before arrival. Passengers should also confirm their eligibility and UAE entry requirements before choosing a longer connection.
The hotel itself may be complimentary, but breakfast and airport transfers in Abu Dhabi are excluded, alongside an AED15 per-room nightly tourism fee and a separate booking fee. The offer excludes 1–6 November, 1–8 December, 27 December 2026–4 January 2027 and 24–30 January 2027. Some booking classes are ineligible, so check Etihad’s official terms before committing to a longer connection.
Luxair has postponed its planned Luxembourg–Abu Dhabi service until late 2027, leaving Etihad as the only nonstop option on the route for now. Passengers travelling beyond Abu Dhabi should check connection times and baggage allowances, particularly as Etihad’s Economy Basic fare excludes checked baggage. In Luxembourg, a direct tram connects the airport with the city centre, while public transport across the country is free, including for tourists.
