Loganair Cancels 19 Flights as Second Storm Approaches

Loganair has cancelled 19 flights on 22–23 October as Storm Austen brings dangerous winds to Jersey and southern Britain. Jersey connections and several domestic routes are affected, while Storm Boelo threatens Scotland and Northern Ireland over the weekend. Although no flights have yet been cancelled because of the second storm, free changes are already available for certain services at affected airports.

Other services remain scheduled. Storm Austen’s free-change offer covers eligible flights involving Bristol, Newquay, Exeter, Jersey and Southampton during Friday’s 00:01–12:00 warning. For Storm Boelo, it covers Scottish airports, Belfast City, City of Derry and the Isle of Man on 24–25 October. The airline still plans to operate those weekend services, but further disruption is possible.
What to Do if Your Flight Is Affected
- Check Loganair’s weather updates, flight status and contact details in Manage My Booking.
- For eligible flights, rebook up to 14 days after your original date without fees or fare differences, subject to availability.
- Already checked in? Undo check-in before changing flights.
- If Loganair cancels your flight, you can get a refund or travel on an alternative service. If you're left waiting for another flight, the airline must provide meals and, where necessary, overnight accommodation.
- Keep itemised receipts for reasonable expenses. Contact your travel agent for third-party bookings.
- Check separately booked connections, which Loganair cannot change under its weather waiver.
The two storms affect different parts of Loganair’s network, so a flight still scheduled today may face disruption later. A weather waiver does not automatically make operating flights refundable. If a service is cancelled, passengers can generally choose a refund or rerouting and may be entitled to care while waiting. Severe weather normally rules out fixed cancellation compensation under UK passenger rights rules.
