Wizz Air will launch a new direct connection between Naples and Palma de Mallorca for the 2026 summer season. According to the airline, tickets are now on sale for the route, which begins on 12 May and will operate three times per week. The carrier highlights Palma’s mild weather and flexible travel patterns as key factors for adding the link, which will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

With the new service, Naples gains another Mediterranean leisure route alongside existing flights from Southern Italy to destinations in Albania, Israel, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Egypt. The airline states that the Palma link will be flown with Airbus A321neo aircraft, which form the backbone of its Italian fleet. Fares start at €19.99 via the company’s website and mobile application.

Bringing the Gulf of Naples into the heart of the Balearic Islands is a challenge we embrace with enthusiasm, reflecting our vision of an increasingly connected Mediterranean. This new route breaks down geographical barriers between two hubs of history, beauty and dynamism. We will continue to invest decisively in fleet innovation and in the quality of services offered at the Neapolitan airport, ensuring that Naples remains a central and indispensable node in our European network. Our commitment is to offer passengers not only the freedom to travel with maximum flexibility, but also the guarantee of constant connectivity that can fuel new tourist flows and strengthen cultural and economic ties between Campania, the rest of Europe and beyond - making travel an accessible, modern and high-quality experience.
Salvatore Gabriele Imperiale, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air

Airport representatives in Naples describe the addition as aligned with demand for beach destinations and short leisure breaks. In 2025, Wizz Air handled a busier schedule at Naples-Capodichino, running close to 4,000 flights and transporting around 790,000 people. Most services operated as planned, with very few cancellations. Local officials expect the Palma service to attract steady summer traffic as part of wider Mediterranean travel flows.

What the new link opens up

  • Palma’s historic centre, cathedral and waterfront
  • Beaches and coves along the Bay of Palma
  • Easy onward access to the Serra de Tramuntana mountains
  • Ferry links to other Balearic Islands during the summer

For travellers based in Campania, the route offers a practical option for both short stays and longer coastal holidays without connecting through Rome, Milan or Barcelona. The frequency pattern (Tue–Thu–Sat) also suits weekend trips and mixed itineraries combining beach time with city breaks.

The new Naples–Palma connection shows how Southern Italy continues to gain direct seasonal links to high-demand leisure destinations rather than relying solely on long-established hubs in Central and Northern Europe. If the performance of similar Mediterranean routes stays strong in summer timetables, incremental additions like this are likely to continue, especially on frequencies that balance tourism demand with operational efficiency.
