Wizz Air Brings Zadar Closer to Central Europe
Wizz Air launched regular flights between Budapest and Zadar on 9 June 2026, when the first service arrived at Zadar Airport. The route adds a direct summer link between Hungary and Croatia’s Dalmatian coast, giving holidaymakers another way to reach Zadar without connecting through larger airports such as Zagreb, Split or Dubrovnik during the busy travel season.
The airline is a new addition to Zadar Airport’s carrier network. Alongside Budapest, Wizz Air has also added Warsaw to the airport’s summer schedule, with four flights per week. The two routes strengthen Zadar’s links with Central Europe, where Croatia remains a popular choice for beach holidays, island trips and city breaks along the Adriatic.
New Routes for Summer Trips
The new summer schedule brings:
- Direct Wizz Air flights between Budapest and Zadar
- A Warsaw route operating four times weekly
- Better access to northern Dalmatia for Hungarian and Polish travellers
- More choice for summer trips without longer transfers through other Croatian airports
The Budapest route makes Zadar easier to reach for short Adriatic breaks, coastal holidays and trips around northern Dalmatia. Travellers can visit Zadar’s Roman Forum, Sea Organ and old town waterfront, then continue to nearby islands such as Ugljan and Pašman. The airport is also useful for reaching Nin, Pag and national parks including Paklenica and Krka.
The launch gives Zadar a stronger summer position without turning the journey into a puzzle of awkward connections. More direct flights mean Central European travellers can plan shorter trips with less time lost on transfers. For Zadar, the new Wizz Air routes bring the city closer to two important markets just as demand for Croatian coastal travel reaches its seasonal peak.
