Wizz Air Adds Aircraft and Five New Routes in Venice

Wizz Air has announced a new phase of expansion at Venice Marco Polo Airport, confirming that a fourth Airbus A321neo will be based at the airport starting in September 2026. The development was presented jointly with SAVE Group and strengthens the airline’s position in North-East Italy. With the additional aircraft, Wizz Air’s Venice network will grow to 26 routes connecting the city with destinations across 16 countries.

The new aircraft will significantly increase operational capacity at the airport. According to the airline, the expansion will add around 500,000 additional seats. The move will also create around 40 direct jobs, joining more than 120 Wizz Air employees already based in Venice. The wider supply chain linked to airport operations is expected to support more than 350 indirect jobs in the region.

New routes announced for Venice

• Bilbao – 4 weekly flights (from 14 September 2026)
• Malaga – 4 weekly flights (from 14 September 2026)
• Alicante – 3 weekly flights (from 15 September 2026)
• Seville – 3 weekly flights (from 15 September 2026)
• Naples – 11 weekly flights starting 1 December 2026

Tickets for the new services are already available on the airline’s website and mobile app, with introductory fares starting at €14.99.

The additional routes will expand links between Venice and several popular cities across Spain and Italy. Bilbao and Seville add direct connections with northern and southern Spain, while Malaga and Alicante bring Venice closer to Spain’s Mediterranean coast.

Wizz Air has operated in Venice since 2011 and has carried more than 3.8 million passengers through the airport during that time. The latest expansion confirms the airport’s role within the airline’s European network. With a larger aircraft base and additional destinations, Venice continues to grow as a departure point for both short city breaks and longer trips across Europe.
