This summer, Greece is launching its first helicopter airline with regular flights. The new company, Hoper, based in Athens, offers individual seats on helicopter flights to 11 popular destinations in the Aegean Sea. These destinations include Athens, Antiparos, Folegandros, Ios, Kea, Mykonos, Patmos, Santorini, Sifnos, Spetses, and Tinos.

Hoper flights significantly save time compared to traditional means of transportation, such as ferries or regular flights. The flight duration does not exceed 45 minutes, making island hopping quick and hassle-free.

Founded by Greek entrepreneurs, Hoper provides fast, convenient, and safe transportation between islands for tourists. The company's fleet consists of five Robinson R44 and R66 helicopters with glass cockpits, allowing passengers to enjoy scenic views during the flight. Flights are operated year-round.

Hoper also offers charter flights upon request. The main routes start from the company's base in Koropi, located 15 minutes by car from Athens International Airport, as well as from Mykonos and Santorini. The company has upgraded all existing helipads on its routes and plans to expand its network to mainland Greece later this year.

Ticket prices range from 160 to 350 euros one way, making this mode of transport accessible to most tourists. Seats can be booked online up to three hours before departure, offering additional flexibility to travelers.

Greek Minister of Tourism Olga Kefalogianni called Hoper "a unique step without precedent" for Greek tourism, emphasizing that this innovation will make traveling around Greece more convenient and accessible to a wide range of tourists.
