Rotterdam Gains Summer Link to Oujda
Transavia will launch a temporary summer service between Rotterdam The Hague Airport and Oujda in north-eastern Morocco. The seasonal route will run twice weekly, on Mondays and Thursdays, from 2 July until 31 August 2026. The airline says it is responding to sustained interest in Oujda during the holiday season and strengthening Morocco’s role within its wider European and North African network.
Oujda sits in a region with long-standing family ties to the Netherlands, especially in Rotterdam and surrounding cities. Summer demand typically rises as relatives travel to visit each other during school holidays. By adding a direct link from Rotterdam, Transavia reduces the need for connecting flights via Amsterdam or other hubs, offering a practical non-stop option for those heading to the Moroccan north-east.
The carrier previously tested Oujda as a temporary destination from Amsterdam during the past Christmas period. Strong winter uptake signalled demand for direct services, prompting Transavia to extend the concept into the peak summer window from Rotterdam. Tickets for the July-August service are already available to book, giving early planners time to secure seats for family visits or extended stays.

This cluster of destinations gives easier access to cities, mountain towns and coastal areas across northern Morocco. Travellers heading to Oujda can reach nearby points of interest such as Saïdia’s Mediterranean beaches, the Beni Snassen mountains, and cross-border bus links into western Algeria, making the region suitable for longer summer visits beyond the city itself.
The temporary route underlines how airlines continue to adjust summer schedules around community travel needs rather than purely leisure demand. Direct services to secondary airports reduce journey times and congestion at larger hubs during the busiest holiday period. For people with family in Morocco, the new Rotterdam–Oujda link offers a straightforward seasonal option between early July and late August without unnecessary detours or night-time connections.
