The night train linking Paris and Berlin is set to return later this month, bringing back a direct overnight rail option between the French and German capitals. The service will be operated by European Sleeper and is scheduled to restart on 26 March. The route had been suspended in mid-December last year after ÖBB and SNCF halted their night train operations on the line, which had originally launched in 2023.

The journey takes around 18 hours and runs overnight between the two capitals. The planned timetable includes evening departures and morning arrivals.

European Sleeper plans to operate the service several times a week. Trains will depart Paris on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, while departures from Berlin are scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. One-way tickets start at €79.99 for a shared cabin. Women-only compartments are available, and travellers can also reserve a private cabin starting from €279.99.

The train also opens the door to easy access between several historic cities on one route. Travellers can plan overnight journeys that link Parisian museums, Brussels’ Grand Place, or Berlin’s cultural districts without the need for flights or daytime transfers. Hamburg’s inclusion later this year will add another well-known destination with maritime heritage and busy waterfront neighbourhoods.

The return of this night train shows that overnight rail remains part of Europe’s travel mix. Services like this one make long distances manageable without airport transfers and early departures. With departures several times a week and flexible cabin options, the Paris–Berlin route adds another practical overnight connection between major European capitals and cities along the way.
