On the Beach Offers Same-Day Refunds for Cancelled Flights
On the Beach has launched a new policy offering same-day refunds if a flight is cancelled. The guarantee applies to all package holidays booked with the company and comes ahead of the summer travel period. The move follows ongoing disruption across European flight schedules, where cancellations and last-minute changes continue to affect holiday plans.
The policy, called ‘Cancelled Flight Cover’, is included automatically in all packages. It applies when a flight is cancelled or delayed by 12 hours or more. In such cases, the company first attempts to secure an alternative flight. If there’s no suitable option, or the customer chooses not to take it, the refund is issued the same day.
“If the worst happens and a flight is cancelled, we’ll move quickly to either find a new route or return every penny of their holiday money that same day."
Customers are required to respond within 72 hours, otherwise the booking is cancelled automatically and the refund is processed. The policy covers the full package cost, including flights, accommodation and extras, but excludes split-flight bookings with different airlines. Non-refundable fees such as ATOL protection and insurance are not included, and banks may take several days to process the payment.
