Munich Airport Gets a New Sleepover Option
Munich Airport opened the ibis Styles Munich Airport on 9 June 2026, adding a new hotel directly on the airport site. The Accor-operated property has 358 rooms and is located at Nordallee 31, close to the terminals and LabCampus, the airport’s innovation centre. Rates have not been listed in the airport announcement and vary by date and availability.
The hotel expands Munich Airport’s accommodation portfolio alongside existing options including the Hilton Munich Airport. It is positioned as a design-led, price-conscious stay rather than a luxury hotel, with interiors inspired by the Isar River. Accor describes forest and water as central design themes, reflected in the blue-green façade and calm interior palette.
Inside the New Airport Hotel
The new ibis Styles Munich Airport includes:
- 358 rooms
- Bar and restaurant
- Co-working area
- Fitness room
- Family room options
- Location on the airport site
- Shuttle access listed by Accor, with extra charges possible
The hotel is aimed at business travellers, holidaymakers, families and airline crews needing a stay close to flights.
The opening makes awkward flight timings easier to manage at Munich Airport. Guests can stay near the terminals before early departures, after late arrivals or between connections, while business visitors have easier access to LabCampus. Longer stopovers also leave room for trips into Munich, Freising or nearby Bavarian sights instead of spending the whole wait inside the airport.
The hotel is unlikely to be the place people book for a romantic Munich weekend, and that is not the point. Its strength is convenience: a bed near the airport, space to work, food on site and fewer taxi calculations before an early flight. For families, crews and business travellers, that can be more useful than a prettier address in the city.
