Loganair has issued guidance for passengers travelling this week as a yellow weather warning is expected to affect parts of Northern Scotland and Northeast England. The alert, in place from Tuesday afternoon on 18 November until Thursday, 20 November, may lead to travel disruption across the region. In response, the airline is giving customers the option to adjust their plans without paying any change fees.

The weather warning covers several airports across Scotland and Northeast England, including Aberdeen, Inverness, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Stornoway, Kirkwall, Sumburgh, Benbecula, Islay, Tiree, Campbeltown, Barra, and Newcastle. Customers with bookings at these airports can switch to another flight within seven days of their original travel date. If seats are available, rebooking will be handled on a first-come basis with no fare difference charged.

Loganair says it intends to operate its full schedule but is preparing for possible delays by positioning standby aircraft and crews to step in if needed. Passengers are reminded that refunds are unavailable unless a flight is formally cancelled. The simplest way to change travel plans is through the airline’s Manage My Booking page, where customers who have already checked in can also un-check themselves before selecting a new service.

These options give passengers more flexibility during the weather-affected period, especially those travelling for work, medical appointments, or onward connections within Scotland’s island communities. Airports such as Kirkwall, Sumburgh, Benbecula, and Tiree serve remote areas where limited weekly flights mean timetable changes can make a significant difference. The ability to move journeys within a week helps people avoid long waits and reduces the risk of missed commitments.

The update shows that Loganair is getting ready for the expected weather and putting simple, practical measures in place before conditions worsen. With the option to move bookings at no extra cost and phone support available throughout the week, passengers have a more straightforward way to adjust their plans. Delays might still happen, but the measures already set up should make the situation easier to handle over the next few days.
