Krakow Adds Rome, Barcelona and Madrid Flights
LOT Polish Airlines has started operating three new direct routes from Krakow, adding regular flights to Rome, Barcelona and Madrid. Services began on 30 March 2026 and increased the number of destinations available from the airport to eleven for the summer season. The new routes give southern Poland a direct way to reach major European cities for both leisure and business trips, without changing planes.
The new connections include regular services to Italy and Spain, giving travellers more choice when planning journeys across Europe. Flights to Rome operate up to five times a week in summer and four times weekly in winter. Barcelona is served up to four times weekly year-round, while Madrid flights operate up to six times a week throughout the year, providing one of the most frequent links in the expanded schedule.
New Routes From Krakow
- Rome – up to 5 flights weekly in summer, 4 in winter
- Barcelona – up to 4 flights weekly year-round
- Madrid – up to 6 flights weekly year-round
Growth at Krakow Airport continues as LOT increases the number of destinations and flight capacity. The airline has added another Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft to operate the expanded schedule. During the summer 2026 season, the airport offers flights to eleven destinations, improving links between Malopolska and major European cities as well as selected long-haul routes available through onward connections.
Direct flights to Rome, Barcelona and Madrid mean these cities can be reached without changing planes. In Rome, many people visit the Colosseum or the Vatican Museums. Barcelona is known for walks by the sea and buildings designed by Gaudí. Madrid is known for its museums and food markets. The routes also make it simpler to travel further to coastal towns or smaller cities in Spain and Italy.
Non-stop flights remove the need for extra transfers that can extend travel time. Several weekly departures give more flexibility when choosing travel dates and planning the length of a stay. With more destinations available, Krakow becomes a convenient place to begin trips across southern Europe, with the option to continue by train between major cities.
