Dubai-based airline flydubai will relaunch its direct route between Dubai and Pisa on 1 April 2025, offering three weekly flights from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport to Pisa International Airport. This move restores an important travel connection that had been on pause, particularly for passengers seeking more accessible links between the Gulf region and central Italy.

The renewed service arrives ahead of the summer peak season, allowing travellers to plan holidays with greater convenience and fewer layovers. Pisa now rejoins flydubai’s expanding Italian network, which includes Milan-Bergamo, Catania, Naples, and the seasonal summer route to Olbia. The announcement also strengthens Pisa’s role as an entry point to Italy for long-haul travellers arriving via Dubai.

For tourists departing from the Gulf countries, this route unlocks direct access to Tuscany’s cultural and natural offerings. Pisa is famous all over the world as one of its landmarks, the Leaning Tower and has quick connection to cities such as Florence, Lucca and Siena. Travellers can explore the region’s Renaissance art, historic architecture, and traditional Tuscan cuisine without the need for stopovers in busier European hubs.

On the other hand, the route offers Italian residents streamlined travel to over 130 destinations in flydubai’s network. With one-stop connectivity via Dubai, travellers from Pisa can reach long-haul holiday destinations such as the Maldives, Zanzibar, Mombasa, and Penang. This makes it easier for European travellers to discover regions across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East with fewer connections and reduced travel time.

The reintroduction of this service is part of a broader pattern in decentralized air travel in which regional airports offer more international links to travellers. It’s a strategic step toward reducing congestion and enhancing route diversity. Above all, it empowers passengers to build more flexible, time-efficient itineraries across continents — a significant advantage in today’s fast-paced travel landscape.
