Travelers are often looking for ways to make their trip worry-free, and choosing the right suitcase can help. Experts give conflicting advice, warning against bright colors to avoid attracting the attention of criminals, but also disapproving of practical design.

Johnny Jett, a travel expert, says that black suitcases are the most commonly lost because they are the most common type. Express writes about his advice on how to avoid this.

The travel guru recommends colored suitcases that are easier to identify. These can be dull shades, but, for example, a green bag is easier to find than a black one, even if it is not a bright spot.

"No matter which company you buy your luggage from, just make sure it's not a black suitcase with hard walls because you want your luggage to be easily identifiable," the tourists were advised.

How to find a balance between safety and practicality?

  • Refuse a black suitcase: this color is the most common, so your suitcase can easily get lost, and it will take more time to find it.
  • Choose a color that is not too bright: brightly colored suitcases attract attention, which can make them a target for thieves.
  • Add an identifying element: it can be a ribbon, sticker, keychain, or security tracker.
  • Choose a suitcase with a high-quality lock: this will help protect your belongings from theft.
  • Don't pack valuables: important documents, jewelry, and other valuable items should be left at home or packed in your carry-on luggage.
