Klagenfurt–Cologne Flights Set for Another Summer

Eurowings has opened bookings for another summer of direct flights between Klagenfurt in Austria and Cologne/Bonn in Germany. The route returned in 2025 and is being extended through the winter, giving Carinthia a year-round link with North Rhine-Westphalia. The summer programme also makes it easier for German visitors to reach southern Austria without changing planes, whether they are heading for the region’s lakes or mountain resorts.

Cologne/Bonn Airport has a railway station serving both terminals, and the S19 takes about 14 minutes to reach Cologne Central Station. Travellers continuing to Brussels or Amsterdam can change to long-distance trains in Cologne rather than arranging an airport transfer by road.
Cologne’s UNESCO-listed cathedral, riverside Rheinauhafen district and Belgian Quarter cafés are easy to visit during a weekend break. Nearby Düsseldorf offers another city trip by train, with its Rhine promenade and museums. In Austria, Klagenfurt provides access to Lake Wörthersee, swimming and cycling routes during summer, and Carinthia’s ski areas in winter. The lakeside town of Velden is another option for a longer stay.
Eurowings’ BASIC fare includes one under-seat bag measuring up to 40 × 30 × 25 cm; larger cabin bags and checked luggage cost extra. Klagenfurt Airport is linked to the city by bus 4, while Annabichl railway stop is around seven minutes away on foot. When comparing fares, allow for baggage charges and the train or bus needed after landing, particularly when planning a short break.
