TAP Air Gives Travellers Free Date Changes

TAP Air Portugal is waiving change fees on tickets issued between 15 May and 15 June 2026. The offer allows customers to book flights during the promotion window and change their travel dates later without paying the usual rebooking fee. The airline says the measure applies across all markets where it operates, giving passengers more room to adjust plans after booking.
The flexible booking offer covers trips with a scheduled departure within the original ticket validity period. Travellers can use it for holidays, weekend breaks or business trips, as long as the ticket was issued during the eligible dates. TAP said the measure is intended to give customers more confidence when planning trips that may still need small changes later.
Rebooking Rules
The waiver comes with clear conditions:
- Booking window: tickets issued between 15 May and 15 June 2026;
- Change deadline: up to seven days before outbound departure;
- Validity: travel must stay within the ticket’s original validity period;
- Extra costs: fare differences may apply if the same booking class is unavailable.
The policy could help travellers booking Portugal trips, island breaks or long-haul journeys through Lisbon and Porto. It may be useful for people considering city stays in Lisbon, Porto or Faro, as well as Madeira, the Azores or TAP’s wider network across Brazil, Africa and North America. The main benefit is being able to book earlier while keeping some date flexibility.
This is not a fully free change, because fare differences can still apply. The waiver removes the change fee only, while the final cost may rise if the original booking class is no longer available. The free rebooking also stays tied to the ticket’s original validity period, and TAP needs the request at least seven days before the first flight.
