Starting 30 July 2025, Emirates will begin daily flights from Dubai to Hangzhou, giving travellers a new way to reach eastern China and adding another stop on the airline’s growing list of destinations. Now that Hangzhou is on the list, Emirates flies to five cities in mainland China, adding to the routes it already has to Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Shenzhen. The route will be operated using a Boeing 777-300ER configured with three cabin classes, accommodating passengers traveling for both business and leisure across different price segments.

According to the announced schedule, flight EK310 will depart from Dubai at 09:40 and land in Hangzhou at 22:00 local time. The return leg, EK311, will take off from Hangzhou at 00:10 and arrive in Dubai at 04:55 the following morning. These times are arranged to offer convenient onward connections to more than 70 cities across Emirates’ global network, including destinations in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and South America.

Hangzhou is a big city in eastern China’s Zhejiang province where it’s easy to hop on a high-speed train and quickly get to lots of other major places nearby. High-speed trains connect Hangzhou with Suzhou, Ningbo, Nanjing, and Shanghai, often within two to three hours of travel. This regional connectivity allows passengers arriving on international flights to easily access multiple urban centres and industrial zones across the Yangtze River Delta without needing domestic air transfers.

The route may offer logistical advantages to travellers from Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East who previously relied on larger Chinese hubs for entry. Thanks to the direct flight to Hangzhou, travellers no longer need to stop in other Chinese cities and can reach where they’re going with less hassle and more comfort. It also helps more people and companies move between China and the many places Emirates flies, making both work trips and vacations easier to plan.

Launching a new Dubai-Hangzhou route marks a pivotal moment in our operations in the Chinese mainland and broader East Asia region. As an emerging global hub for innovation, e-commerce and advanced manufacturing, Hangzhou will open doors to new opportunities for our passenger and cargo operations, further strengthening the vital economic and technological exchanges between the Middle East and China.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer

Emirates choosing Hangzhou shows how more airlines are starting to fly to less obvious cities instead of just sticking to the biggest ones. As more people look for new places to visit or work, airlines are starting to fly straight to smaller but busy cities that play an important role in their region. This shows how air travel is spreading out from just the major airports and why it matters to connect places that don’t get much attention but are still important and well located.
