Festive Bus Services in Kent Include Discounted Tickets

Stagecoach will run extra bus services across Kent from November 29 to December 21, 2025, to handle the extra travel that comes with the holidays. A new weekend route will connect neighborhoods to the Bluewater shopping center. On Sundays, the 1X bus goes to Ashford and the X3 bus goes to Maidstone, both of which are towns with shopping areas. These changes are meant to cut down on traffic and give people other ways to get around besides driving during busy holiday times.
Ticket prices and options for the festive services are structured as follows:
- Bluewater return ticket: £12 per adult; children under 5 travel free
- Single ticket on 1X or X3: from £3
- South East Group DayRider: up to 5 people, unlimited travel for £19.80
These fares provide access for individual and group travellers, supporting public transport use during busy periods and helping to manage capacity on roads and at key destinations effectively.
The Bluewater weekend service provides direct access to Winterland, the seasonal attraction within the shopping centre. Passengers can reach the venue for rides, seasonal entertainment, and shopping without using private vehicles. Pick-up points include Herne Bay (Sea Street Roundabout, rail station, fire station), Canterbury (Asda on Sturry Road and bus station), Faversham rail station, Teynham near Dover Castle, and Sittingbourne bus hub. The service arrives at Bluewater The Village at 11:05 and departs at 17:30.
These expanded services also cover Sunday connections to Ashford and Maidstone, providing consistent transport options for local residents. The buses connect several towns to shopping areas and seasonal events, making it possible for visitors to plan a full day of markets, stores, or Winterland activities. The plans are meant to keep traffic moving, make travel times predictable, and help people travel safely across Kent during the busy holiday season.
The temporary service expansion reflects planning to meet seasonal transport demand and manage capacity efficiently. By offering additional routes and ticket options, public transport can reduce congestion, facilitate access to popular destinations, and improve travel organization. Travellers are advised to plan their journeys and book tickets in advance to ensure availability, while providers continue monitoring usage and adjusting operations as needed.
