East Midlands Railway Introduces Secret Fare for Travelers
East Midlands Railway (EMR) has rolled out a new ticketing option called Secret Fare, offering travelers significant savings on their journeys. This new fare type, launched in partnership with Seatfrog, allows flexible travelers to save up to 50% on tickets, making it an attractive option for those planning their next adventure.
Travelers can now enjoy affordable trips between key destinations. For example, journeys from Nottingham to London and Derby to London can be as low as £12, while Sheffield to London fares start from £16. Even more enticing, trips from Sheffield to Liverpool can be booked for just £4.
The process to secure these savings is straightforward. Passengers can book their Secret Fare tickets as soon as services open for reservation, typically three months before travel, up until two days before their journey. The booking can be made via the Seatfrog app or on the Secret Fare webpage. Travelers simply enter their journey details, select a preferred time window (morning, afternoon, or evening), and wait for their discounted ticket to arrive by email 24 hours before departure.
Philippa Creswell, Customer Service Director at East Midlands Railway, emphasized the benefits for travelers. She noted that Secret Fare is designed to make affordable travel more accessible, particularly for those with flexible schedules. This fare option is perfect for spontaneous trips or budget-friendly visits to family and friends, offering a hassle-free and cost-effective travel solution.
Iain Griffin, CEO of Seatfrog, highlighted the partnership's goal of providing substantial discounts to passengers, ensuring that travel is more affordable for everyone.
Secret Fare is available for various routes, including Sheffield to St Pancras, Nottingham to St Pancras, Derby to St Pancras, Liverpool to Sheffield, Liverpool to Nottingham, and Nottingham to Norwich. With prices ranging from £4 to £16, travelers have a variety of options to choose from for their next journey.
