AJet Lands in Rotterdam with New Istanbul Link
AJet has begun operations at Rotterdam The Hague Airport, introducing a four-times-weekly service to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport. The first flight arrived on 22 February and was welcomed with a traditional water salute on the apron. With this launch, AJet becomes the newest airline to join the airport’s growing list of scheduled carriers.
The route connects Rotterdam directly with Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen Airport, located on the Asian side of the Turkish city. Flights run four days each week, offering steady connections suited to both work trips and city breaks. The service strengthens ties between the Netherlands and Turkey while adding another non-stop destination to Rotterdam’s departure boards.
Services are operated using either a Boeing 737-800 MAX or an Airbus A320. Both aircraft types are commonly used on short- and medium-haul European routes. Tickets are available via the airport’s website and through AJet’s own booking channels. The new connection places Istanbul within a few hours’ reach for travellers departing from the south of the Netherlands.
Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen offers access to neighbourhoods along the Bosphorus, historic districts such as Kadıköy, and ferry links across the strait into the European side of the city. From there, visitors can reach landmarks including the Grand Bazaar, Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. The route also opens onward domestic connections within Turkey via AJet’s network.
