AirAsia X Announces Route Expansion and Fare Discounts for 18th Anniversary
AirAsia X has announced a limited-time sale marking its 18th anniversary and reflecting the carrier’s continued expansion since its founding in 2007. Operating from Sepang, Malaysia, the airline has carried more than 50 million passengers and now serves 21 routes across Asia, Australia, the Middle East, and Europe. The anniversary sale runs until 2 November 2025, with one-way fares starting from RM338 for travel through November 2026 via official website.
According to the airline, travelers who select the Value Pack option, which includes meals, travel insurance, and seat selection, will receive an additional 18 percent discount during the promotion period. With global travel gradually approaching pre-pandemic levels, AirAsia X is leveraging this campaign as part of a broader effort to restore its network and keep fares competitive. The company keeps changing how it does business based on demand in different areas and changes in the market.
Recent route additions include Almaty, Tashkent, and Istanbul, representing the airline’s first entry into Central Asia and Türkiye. AirAsia X picked these places to add to its network and make connections between Southeast Asia and new tourist areas stronger. Almaty is the best place for travelers to get to the foothills of the Tien Shan mountains. Tashkent is the best place for travelers to get to Uzbekistan's historic Silk Road sites, such as the UNESCO-listed cities of Samarkand and Bukhara.
Alongside the new routes, AirAsia X maintains regular services to major international cities such as Tokyo, Seoul, Sydney, and Taipei. These routes serve as a key connection in the airline’s network, linking Malaysia with important business hubs and well-known holiday destinations across several regions The airline's current network structure reflects both long-term demand and a cautious expansion model designed to balance new markets with operational stability and the economic efficiency of the entire fleet.
With the wider network and promotional fares, travelers can plan more affordable journeys as competition in regional air travel grows stronger.
