Jet2 Promises No Extra Fuel Fees Through Summer 2028
Jet2 passengers booking winter flights or package holidays will not face a fuel surcharge added after they book, the airline has reiterated amid rising aviation fuel costs. The guarantee extends beyond this winter to every season currently on sale, including summer 2028. It protects the price of an existing reservation against later fuel charges, but does not freeze fares for people who have yet to book.
Jet2 removed its provision for fuel-related surcharges earlier this year, although it says it had never used it. The guarantee covers bookings made directly or through independent travel agents, including holidays paid for with a deposit. Customers do not need a voucher or special fare to qualify. However, the promise relates to fuel surcharges, not every possible expense associated with a trip.
“Customers work and save hard for their holidays, so they deserve certainty from the moment they book."

UK package travel rules can permit later price increases linked to fuel only where the contract expressly allows them. Travellers must receive at least 20 days' notice, and an increase exceeding 8% allows them to cancel without a termination fee. Jet2's pledge removes that particular fuel-charge risk. Local tourist taxes, however, can change after booking and may be collected at the accommodation.
Someone booking a ski trip or winter-sun holiday can therefore budget without worrying about Jet2 adding a fuel bill to the reservation later. However, a cheaper fare seen today could rise before purchase, and changes to a confirmed trip may carry fees. Compare the total including baggage, seat selection and transfers, then check the booking confirmation for any tourist tax payable locally.
