Seagulls have been causing chaos in the picturesque village of Port Isaac, known from the TV show "Doc Martin" and the shanty group Fishermen's Friends. On June 27, photographer Tom McAsey, 56, captured the moment the birds dive-bombed tourists for their ice creams.

Located in Cornwall, Port Isaac has seen an increase in aggressive seagull behavior, leaving visitors frustrated as their food is snatched away. McAsey described the situation as an "epidemic," noting that seagulls are notorious for stealing pasties and ice creams from unsuspecting tourists.

McAsey observed the seagulls as they hovered near the village’s popular spots. "People are in shock when their food is stolen," he said. "Most laugh it off, though some get angry."

Despite warnings about seagull attacks, tourists continue to buy more ice cream, albeit more cautiously. The local authorities have advised visitors to stay vigilant and protect their food.

Port Isaac, a charming fishing village, is celebrated for its association with "Doc Martin" and the success of Fishermen's Friends, whose story also inspired a popular film. However, the seagull problem is now a significant issue for the community.

Residents and visitors alike are experiencing the impact of these brazen birds, who have made a habit of snatching food right out of people's hands. While some find the situation amusing, it poses a real nuisance for many.

Tourists are encouraged to enjoy the scenic beauty and cultural significance of Port Isaac while being mindful of the persistent seagull threat. The village continues to be a beloved destination, offering a blend of natural charm and entertainment history, despite the ongoing seagull antics.
