Berlin Gets New Direct Flights to Romania’s Bukovina Region
Wizz Air is adding a new nonstop link between Berlin Brandenburg and Suceava, opening a direct path into Romania’s historic Bukovina region. The north-eastern city is better known as a gateway to Bukovina’s painted monasteries than as a mainstream city-break stop, giving Berlin travellers a less obvious winter option with easy access to one of Romania’s most distinctive historic regions.

This is Wizz Air’s ninth new BER route since the start of 2026 and takes its winter 2026/27 network at the airport to 15 destinations. Suceava also gains a nonstop link to the German capital on a route that currently requires a connection. The airport serves north-eastern Romania, making the service useful both for city breaks and for trips across the wider Bukovina region.
Suceava is a practical base for the UNESCO-listed Churches of Moldavia, a group of eight fresco-covered churches dating largely from the 15th and 16th centuries. The list includes St George in Suceava, Voroneț, Humor, Moldovița, Arbore and Sucevița. Visitors can also use the city for trips through rural Bukovina, where monasteries and historic settlements are spread across the region rather than concentrated in one centre.
The three weekly departures make both shorter and longer stays possible, including Thursday-to-Saturday and Saturday-to-Tuesday combinations. Exact flight times should still be checked before booking accommodation, as they will determine how much usable time each trip provides. Wizz Air fares can also rise once larger cabin bags, checked luggage or other extras are added, so compare the final booking total rather than the headline price.
