10 May 2024, Condor initiated the commercial operation of its new Airbus A320neo with a flight from Frankfurt to Heraklion, marking the beginning of its plan to gradually replace its existing short and medium-haul fleet. The flight, numbered DE1662, is the first in a series that will soon include destinations such as Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Funchal, Faro, and Samos.

The A320neo, registered as D-ANCZ, is the forefront of Condor's commitment to modernizing its fleet, with a total of 43 A32Xneo aircraft expected by 2029. This strategy follows the recent renewal of the airline's long-haul fleet and includes the addition of 15 A320neo and 28 A321neo models.

Features of the new A320neo focus on enhancing the passenger experience, with onboard connectivity through "FlyConnect," allowing travelers access to entertainment and internet services using their personal devices. The aircraft also offers increased storage with larger overhead compartments and features a refreshed cabin design.

The A32Xneo family boasts improvements such as advanced aerodynamics with Sharklets on the wings and the latest generation PW1127G engines from Pratt & Whitney. These enhancements aim to reduce fuel consumption by 20% and are compatible with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), supporting a reduction in CO2 emissions and noise levels.
