A Hilton Cave Hotel Opens Beside Ortahisar Castle

Hilton has opened Elika Cave Suites Cappadocia, Curio Collection by Hilton, marking the group’s first cave hotel. The 36-room property is located in Ortahisar, in the heart of Cappadocia’s UNESCO-listed landscape, beside Ortahisar Castle. The hotel has been restored from centuries-old cave dwellings and now combines historic stone structures with modern guest facilities.
Cappadocia is known for fairy chimneys, rock-carved homes and volcanic landscapes shaped over millions of years. The hotel uses this setting as part of the stay, with open-air pathways, a village-like layout and cave interiors shaped by stone, light and local craftsmanship. Hilton says the property is designed around Cappadocia’s heritage rather than a standard hotel format.
Inside the restored cave suites
The hotel includes:
- 36 individually designed rooms and suites
- Cave suites with private pools
- Selected rooms with Turkish hammams
- Fireplaces, hot tubs and terrace hot tubs
- A cave-based event hall and outdoor pool
The villa also includes a glass-fronted infinity pool, while antique details, ceramics, textiles and woodwork appear throughout the property.
The opening gives visitors another way to stay close to Cappadocia’s key sights while using Ortahisar as a quieter base. Guests can explore Ortahisar Castle, nearby valleys, local viewpoints and Cappadocia’s cave architecture without staying in the busiest parts of the region. The location also suits trips built around hot-air balloons, village walks, food and cultural visits.
Elika Cave Suites Cappadocia is part of Hilton Honors, so members can book through Hilton’s website, app or official channels and use points where available. The hotel will suit travellers who want Cappadocia’s cave setting with brand-backed booking tools, Wi-Fi, spa facilities and dining on site. It adds a more structured option to a region known for unusual stays.
