Despite being a small landlocked country in Eastern Europe, Moldova attracts many tourists. From cuisine and landscapes to entertainment and shopping, there are plenty of attractions and experiences to be had.

At the same time, there are many local products that can be brought home as souvenirs. Among them are ceramic products, as pottery is one of the oldest traditions and crafts in Moldova, writes NewsBytes.

Men do this work because it requires great physical strength and dexterity. You will find many pottery items such as pitchers, plates, mugs, vases, bowls, statues, and flutes that locals use for decoration and ritual purposes.

Nucul de Aur is a medicinal drink that contains various fruits, leaves, herbs, roots, and essential oils. One of the most important ingredients is green walnut, which contains absorbable iodine. In addition, this drink also contains 45% alcohol, which is absorbed by the aforementioned ingredients. Locals use it to get rid of fatigue, weakness, indigestion, and malaise.

Tourists at Moldovan markets will see many interesting and aesthetically pleasing home decor items that can add a Moldovan touch to your home. From traditional Moldovan dolls in folk costumes to the oldest surviving carpets, everyone will find something for themselves. You can also buy handmade baskets, wood carvings such as kitchen utensils, and beautiful tablecloths with different patterns.

Another traditional souvenir from Moldova is walnut jam. After all, the country is well known for its purees, spreads, jams, natural juices and nectars. One of them is walnut jam, which is an ideal souvenir to take home as it is hard to buy elsewhere. Made from fresh green walnuts, this tasty offering is crunchy and smooth at the same time.

Moldova is also known for its wines. Negru de Purcari is a local brand of premium wine that is aged for several years in oak barrels in the oldest cellars in the country. Internationally recognized, this wine has won many awards and recognitions. It has a deep velvety and sensual taste.
