The best pizzeria in Malaysia has been named

For the second year in a row, Kuala Lumpur-based Proof Pizza + Wine has been recognized as the best pizzeria in Malaysia in the prestigious 50 Top Pizza Asia-Pacific 2024 ranking, released on March 4 in Tokyo, Japan.

Proof, which is located in the Bangsar APW restaurant enclave, is the only Malaysian pizzeria to make the list (and ranked 46th in the Asia-Pacific region). The No. 1 pizzeria in the Asia-Pacific region on the 2024 list is The Pizza Bar, ranked 38th in Tokyo, writes the Star.

Last year, Proof was ranked 42nd on the list, while in 2022 it was ranked 46th along with another Malaysian restaurant, Luce Osteria Contemporanea, which was ranked 44th (but has since been removed from the list).

The voting for the 50 Best Pizzerias is done by anonymous inspectors who travel around the region to determine which pizzerias deserve a place in the top 50. The selection criteria include food quality, service, decor, and atmosphere.

As TravelWise previously reported, the popular American pizza chain Pizza Hut decided to take a fresh look at traditional Hong Kong food by offering a snake pizza.
