Gatwick Adds New Germany Links for Summer 2026
London Gatwick will expand its links with Germany in summer 2026 as Eurowings launches two new routes to Cologne and Stuttgart. The German carrier, part of the Lufthansa Group, will begin flying to Cologne on 29 March with a high-frequency schedule. A second service to Stuttgart will follow on 13 April, adding further choice for travellers heading to key German cities.
Cologne and Stuttgart Added with Near-Daily Flights
The Cologne route will operate 13 times per week, making it one of the most frequent Germany services at Gatwick. Stuttgart will be served six times weekly, offering near-daily coverage once the route opens. Tickets for both destinations are already on sale. The additions reinforce Gatwick’s position as a major gateway between the UK and Germany during the busy summer travel period.

Eurowings’ arrival also forms part of a wider growth phase at London Gatwick. The airport has confirmed that passengers will be able to choose from more than 230 routes in summer 2026. Germany remains a focus market, with Condor due to operate three daily flights to Frankfurt, while several other airlines are introducing new routes or increasing frequencies across Europe.
Cologne serves as a convenient entry point to the Rhine region, with rail links and cultural sites spread across western Germany. Stuttgart opens routes into Baden-Württemberg, with links to the Black Forest, Swabian Alps and nearby cities such as Heidelberg and Ulm. Both destinations also serve as practical entry points for travellers combining city breaks with regional travel by train.
The new Eurowings routes add to Gatwick’s growing mix of short-haul services, sitting alongside its established leisure network. More frequent flights and additional German gateways give travellers greater flexibility, especially outside peak weekends. With more flights scheduled by several carriers, Gatwick will offer a wider spread of European routes next summer, giving travellers more direct options rather than routing everything through the same major hubs.
