easyJet Adds Southend Edinburgh Flights
easyJet is adding a new domestic link between London Southend Airport and Edinburgh, giving Essex, London and East Anglia another direct route to Scotland’s capital. The airline says the service is aimed at short breaks, business trips and visits to friends and family. It also strengthens easyJet’s UK network and adds another domestic option at Southend.
What to Know About the Route

The airline says the schedule is intended to work for long weekends and shorter trips. Package holidays are also available through easyJet holidays, combining return flights and hotel stays. easyJet is promoting its Book with Confidence Promise, which says flight and package prices will not rise after booking and that the airline intends to operate its full network schedule.
The route makes Edinburgh easier to reach without using larger London airports. Visitors can plan a compact city break around Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, museums, galleries and the city’s food and drink scene. The Thursday and Sunday pattern also suits walks up Arthur’s Seat, festival weekends, rugby trips and longer stays with time for Scotland’s countryside.
The new flights give Southend a stronger role for domestic travel, not just beach and city breaks abroad. For people in Essex, east London and East Anglia, the route cuts out the need to cross London before flying north. The twice-weekly schedule will not fit every trip, but it works well for planned weekends, business visits and family travel.
