A New Gateway to Finland's Arctic Region
The latest addition strengthens Eurowings' presence in Rovaniemi, where the airline will also operate seasonal services from Düsseldorf, Berlin and Hamburg. Expanding the number of departure cities makes Finnish Lapland more accessible to travellers across Central Europe while supporting the region's continued rise as an international winter destination. The route also responds to the increasing number of visitors choosing northern Finland for seasonal holidays.
Arriving in Rovaniemi gives visitors access to some of Lapland's best-known attractions during the winter months. The city is home to Santa Claus Village, located on the Arctic Circle, while the surrounding region offers opportunities to see the Northern Lights when conditions allow. Travellers can also explore snow-covered forests, enjoy reindeer and husky experiences, or visit the Arktikum museum to learn more about Arctic nature, culture and life in northern Finland.
The announcement means greater flexibility when planning winter trips to Lapland and one more nonstop option from Central Europe during the busiest travel period. For many passengers, a direct flight means spending less time in transit and avoiding connections through busy European hub airports. The addition of new seasonal routes also gives travellers more departure options and makes Finland's Arctic region easier to reach during the winter months.
