Mount Washington, the highest point in the northeastern United States, opens the summer season with new opportunities for tourists. Located in New Hampshire, this peak offers unique views and adventures for all visitors.

This season, it has become possible to hike to the summit via the updated Tuckerman Ravine Trail and Lions Head Trail. These trails, approximately 4 miles long, allow you to enjoy nature as you pass through forested areas and climb rocky peaks. The journey takes from five to nine hours, requiring certain physical fitness and experience.

In addition to hiking routes, tourists can use the Auto Road, which allows them to reach the summit in 30 minutes. This route is popular among those who prefer comfortable conditions and want to enjoy the views with minimal effort.

However, the most thrilling way remains the trip on the famous Mount Washington Cog Railway. This year, the railway celebrates its 150th anniversary, offering guests unique trips to the summit on slopes with an average grade of 25%. Some sections of the railway have a grade of up to 38%, making it the second steepest cog railway in the world.

This summer, the railway has added additional trips on biodiesel trains and historic coal-fired steam engines, operating from July to August. The journey takes about three hours, including a one-hour stop at the summit, where guests can enjoy panoramic views and take photos.

Regardless of the chosen method of ascent, visiting the summit of Mount Washington promises unforgettable impressions and stunning views that will stay with you for a lifetime.
