Virgin Galactic Plans 2027 Spaceflights - Can You Book?
Virgin Galactic is preparing to take paying passengers into space again after more than two years without commercial flights. Its new Spaceship Apeiron arrived at Spaceport America in New Mexico on 28 October 2026, carried beneath the Eve aircraft. The company is already accepting applications for future trips, although signing up works rather differently from booking an ordinary flight — particularly when it comes to securing a seat.

Apeiron travelled to New Mexico attached to its carrier aircraft, Eve. Engineers still need to complete the avionics software checks before trying glide tests and, later, rocket-powered flights. VSS Unity made its final commercial flight in June 2024. Rival Blue Origin paused New Shepard flights in January 2026 for at least two years to concentrate on lunar projects, leaving few near-term alternatives.
If Apeiron enters service, paying customers would experience a brief spell of weightlessness and see Earth's curve through cabin windows before landing back in New Mexico. Visitors who cannot afford a seat can still explore the region: Spaceport America offers pre-booked guided tours, while Truth or Consequences has hot springs. White Sands National Park is another trip, though its access occasionally closes for military testing.
Apeiron's arrival makes a launch possible, not certain. Before paying a deposit, customers should ask Virgin Galactic for the current fare, cancellation and rescheduling terms, medical requirements and the length of on-site preparation. The company is already readying existing ticket holders, and its previous seat allocation sold out. Avoid booking non-refundable travel to New Mexico until an individual flight date is confirmed.
