Hyatt Hotels Corporation has opened Andaz Lisbon, introducing the lifestyle brand to Portugal for the first time. The new hotel is located in the historic Baixa district, placing guests close to some of Lisbon’s best-known landmarks. With views towards Praça do Comércio and the Tagus River waterfront, the property sits in one of the city’s busiest cultural and architectural areas.

The opening forms part of Hyatt’s wider expansion of lifestyle hotels across Europe. Andaz Lisbon includes 170 rooms and suites designed with references to Portuguese craftsmanship. Materials such as cork, stone, mosaic tiles and mahogany appear throughout the interiors. The hotel also incorporates modern technology features while keeping a strong focus on personalised service and locally inspired design.

“The opening of Andaz Lisbon is an exciting moment for our lifestyle portfolio in Europe. I fell in love with Lisbon about a decade ago so this, in many ways, is a dream come true. Lisbon is a city defined by rich history, creativity, and individuality and this property reflects that spirit through its design, storytelling, and local collaboration and our approach with Andaz to be deeply rooted to our locations and enriching for our guests."
Amar Lalvani, President & Creative Director, Lifestyle, Hyatt

Key features of Andaz Lisbon

  • 170 guest rooms and suites
  • rooftop restaurant and terrace called Luzzi
  • Andaz Lounge serving Portuguese-inspired dishes
  • fitness centre equipped with Technogym equipment
  • spa services planned for a later stage

Dining at the property highlights Portuguese culinary traditions alongside contemporary influences. The rooftop restaurant Luzzi overlooks the city and serves dishes influenced by Portugal’s long history of global trade and travel. The Andaz Lounge brings together café culture and local street food ideas inspired by Lisbon’s traditional kiosks.

Staying in Baixa places visitors within walking distance of many places that define Lisbon’s character. Praça do Comércio, the Tagus riverfront and the historic streets around Alfama are nearby, along with tram routes climbing toward hilltop viewpoints. Guests can easily reach cafés, small shops and nightlife districts that draw visitors to the Portuguese capital.

The Andaz brand has now entered Lisbon’s hotel market with this new opening in the Baixa district. The city continues to attract growing numbers of visitors, and hotels are increasingly shaped by local design and culture. Located in the centre of Lisbon, the property gives guests another place to stay within walking distance of many of the capital’s well-known streets, cafés and historic sites.
