In an exciting development for cricket fans and travelers alike, Etihad Airways has officially become the sponsor of the Chennai Super Kings, a prestigious cricket team in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The announcement came during a special event in Chennai, the home city of the Super Kings, amidst the cheers of 2,000 fans. This partnership marks a significant milestone in sports sponsorships, blending the thrill of cricket with the excellence of air travel.

The unveiling ceremony at Kalaivanar Arangam was a spectacle of unity and pride, featuring Chennai Super Kings’ players and Etihad cabin crew showcasing the team's new jerseys emblazoned with the Etihad logo. This collaboration aims to enhance the fan experience with a series of engaging activities, promotions, and initiatives, setting a new benchmark in sports partnerships.

Etihad’s sponsorship will be visible across Chennai Super Kings’ platforms, including the back of the team’s jerseys, activations at events and matches, and exclusive deals for fans. This strategic alliance underscores Etihad’s commitment to the Indian market and its mission to forge meaningful connections across diverse communities.

Arik De, Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, shared his excitement about the partnership, emphasizing the shared values and spirit between Etihad and the Chennai Super Kings. “Our collaboration is a celebration of shared ethos and a testament to the collective spirit of Etihad and the Chennai Super Kings," said De. He highlighted the unifying power of cricket in India and expressed Etihad’s commitment to creating unforgettable moments and forging a powerful connection that transcends boundaries.

Kasi Viswanathan, CEO of Chennai Super Kings, echoed this sentiment, pointing out the global association benefits and the commitment to excellence and passion for success that both entities share. “This collaboration goes beyond the boundaries of a traditional sponsorship – it's about creating an extraordinary experience for our fans and setting new standards in sports partnerships," stated Viswanathan.

The Etihad - Chennai Super Kings partnership not only promises to deliver a series of exciting initiatives and unique fan experiences but also solidifies Etihad’s dedication to the Indian market. With 165 weekly flights to 10 Indian cities and expanding routes, Etihad is strengthening its presence in India.

Following the recent announcement of Bollywood superstar Katrina Kaif as Etihad's brand ambassador, this partnership with the Chennai Super Kings further reinforces Etihad’s commitment to connecting with diverse audiences across India. As fans eagerly anticipate the upcoming cricket season, this collaboration is set to redefine the dynamics of sports sponsorships and leave a lasting impact on the global stage.
