Air Serbia Adds Hand-Luggage-Only Fare on Montenegro Routes

Air Serbia is introducing a new Economy Light fare on its Belgrade–Tivat and Belgrade–Podgorica routes, starting 29 January. The new ticket type includes only hand luggage and is designed for shorter trips. It applies specifically to services between Serbia and Montenegro and adds a lower-priced option alongside existing economy fares already available on these regional flights.
The airline says the Economy Light fare targets passengers travelling without checked baggage who want a simpler ticket structure. It is positioned as a practical choice for weekend breaks, short holidays and frequent business journeys on these routes. Service onboard remains aligned with the airline’s standard economy product, while the fare conditions focus on cabin baggage only.
According to Air Serbia, the new fare forms part of a broader update of its short-haul offer. The carrier is adjusting fare structures to match current booking patterns, where many passengers on regional sectors travel with only a small bag. Adding a hand-luggage-only ticket gives clearer price differentiation and lets passengers choose based on trip length and baggage needs.
Where the new fare fits best
- Weekend trips between Serbia and Montenegro
- Short leisure breaks on the coast
- Same-week business travel
- Quick city stays without checked bags
These routes connect Belgrade with Montenegro’s main coastal and capital airports, opening easier access to seaside resorts around Tivat and the Bay of Kotor, as well as Podgorica’s business and cultural districts. Lower entry fares can make short coastal stays and quick meetings more practical when travelling light.
The new fare is aimed at passengers travelling with cabin baggage only and removes the cost of checked luggage from the ticket price. Travellers who need to check a bag must book another fare type with baggage included. The addition expands pricing options on these two regional routes while flight schedules and onboard service remain unchanged.
