Berlin–Lapland Flights Return for the Winter Season
Eurowings has introduced a seasonal nonstop connection between Berlin Brandenburg Airport and Kittilä in northern Finland, aimed at winter travellers heading to Lapland. The flights operate between 31 January and 21 March, a time when winter conditions shape travel across the region. The route is available once a week on Saturdays and allows travellers to reach northern Finland without changing planes.
The schedule is built to keep travel simple, with outbound and return flights planned for the same day. Key elements of the service include:
- departure from Berlin Brandenburg Airport at 14:25
- arrival in Kittilä at 18:15 local time
- return departure from Kittilä at 19:05
- arrival back in Berlin at 20:55
The journey takes just under three hours and is operated using an Airbus A320 with 180 seats. Local time in Kittilä is one hour ahead of Berlin.
From Arrival to Adventure in One Day
Landing at Kittilä Airport gives travellers quick access to some of Lapland’s best known winter areas. Levi, a popular ski resort close to the airport, offers well organised slopes, lifts, and a walkable village with accommodation, restaurants, and services close together. Ylläs, located a short distance away, is known for its wide open spaces, long ski runs, and calmer atmosphere, which suits travellers looking for nature and quiet surroundings.
The region around Kittilä also offers winter experiences beyond skiing. Marked cross country trails pass through snowy forests and can be accessed directly from nearby resorts. Guided husky safaris lead travellers across frozen terrain and remain one of the most memorable local activities. Many travellers end their day by visiting a Finnish sauna, using the heat to recover after time spent outside.
