More Seats Added on TAP’s Southern Brazil Routes

TAP Air Portugal will add a fourth weekly flight on two routes to southern Brazil in the 2026 European summer. Lisbon–Porto Alegre and Lisbon–Florianópolis will both move to four flights per week, adding capacity on services that are already running. The extra rotations start in early July, which gives travellers more date options during a busy part of the summer travel calendar.
The Lisbon–Porto Alegre route will gain an extra weekly frequency operating on Mondays, starting 6 July. TAP will also add a fourth weekly flight on the Lisbon–Florianópolis route, scheduled on Sundays from 5 July. These changes increase capacity on both routes and provide more flexibility for passengers travelling between Portugal, other European markets, and southern Brazil.
TAP describes the added frequencies as part of its ongoing focus on Brazil, particularly the southern states of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina. The airline has steadily rebuilt and expanded its presence in the region over recent seasons. By increasing weekly services rather than adjusting aircraft size, TAP is responding to consistent demand across multiple travel periods.
What becomes easier to reach in southern Brazil
- Porto Alegre as a gateway to Rio Grande do Sul
- Florianópolis and the beaches of Santa Catarina
- Regional wine areas, coastal towns and nature reserves
- Short domestic connections within southern Brazil
These options benefit from more evenly spread departures across the week.
The added frequencies make travel planning simpler rather than more complex. Extra weekly flights reduce the need to build trips around fixed departure days and open up more combinations with onward connections in Lisbon. For people travelling between Europe and southern Brazil, the change signals steadier access and more choice during the busy summer months, without altering familiar routes or travel patterns.
