Air France will operate a short series of direct flights between Cardiff and Paris in February 2026, timed around Valentine’s Day. The services will run between 13 and 16 February, offering a limited window for travel without connections. Flight time is under two hours, restoring a direct air link between south Wales and the French capital for a long weekend during one of Paris’s quieter months.

The flights are scheduled to suit short stays, allowing travellers to leave Cardiff and arrive in Paris with minimal disruption. By removing the need to change airports or routes elsewhere, the service simplifies planning for those looking to fit a break into a few days. Tickets are already available through Air France and travel agents, with seats limited to the four-day operating period.

February is often seen as a calmer time to visit Paris, with fewer visitors around major sights and more availability in museums, restaurants and cultural venues. The timing coincides with Valentine’s Day, but the flights are not limited to couples. The route also suits solo travellers and small groups interested in galleries, food, architecture and winter city walks.

What a February trip to Paris allows

  • Easier access to major museums such as the Louvre and Musée d’Orsay
  • Shorter queues at landmarks including the Eiffel Tower and Notre-Dame
  • Seasonal menus in bistros and neighbourhood restaurants
  • Walkable streets and river paths without peak-season crowds

These factors make a brief visit easier to manage within a long weekend.

“We’re delighted to offer direct flights to such a vibrant city for Valentine’s weekend. Cardiff Airport is expanding its reach, giving customers an easy, friendly travel experience and fantastic options. We’ve listened to passenger demand and are excited to make this opportunity possible, with more to come from Cardiff."
Jon Bridge, CEO of Cardiff Airport

The Cardiff–Paris flights add a practical option rather than a new travel trend. A direct route for a fixed period gives people a clear reason to plan early and keep trips simple. For those based in south Wales, it reduces reliance on larger UK airports and turns a familiar destination into a realistic short break without extra planning or unnecessary travel time.
