Due to the escalation of the situation in Israel and the region, Bulgaria Air is forced to make changes to the flight schedule between Sofia and Tel Aviv from August 4 to August 9, 2024. These measures are aimed at ensuring the safety of passengers and crew, which is a priority for the national carrier.

According to the new schedule, flights between Sofia and Tel Aviv will be operated exclusively during daylight hours. On August 6, all flights between the two cities were canceled. On August 8, flight FB 571 from Sofia to Tel Aviv will depart at 15:50, and flight FB 572 will return at 19:00 local time. On August 9, the departure time of flight FB 573 from Sofia to Tel Aviv has been changed to 05:10, and flight FB 574 from Tel Aviv to Sofia will depart at 08:40 local time. These changes reflect Bulgaria Air's efforts to ensure flight safety and comply with strict security measures in the airspace over Israel.

The airline continues to closely monitor the situation and respond promptly to any changes. The measures taken emphasize Bulgaria Air's commitment to fulfilling its mission of providing reliable transportation services even in uncertain and challenging conditions.

In addition to Bulgaria Air, other major international airlines are also adjusting their schedules due to the escalating situation in the region. Delta Air Lines has suspended flights between New York (JFK) and Tel Aviv through August 31, citing ongoing security concerns in the region. This decision underscores Delta's commitment to the safety and well-being of its passengers and crew.

The Lufthansa Group has also adjusted its services to the Middle East based on current security assessments. All flights to Tel Aviv, Tehran, and Beirut are suspended up to and including August 12. Flights to Amman and Erbil are suspended up to and including August 7. Lufthansa is offering affected passengers the option to rebook or cancel their flights free of charge, and extends this option to passengers traveling to Tel Aviv, Tehran, and Beirut who have booked before August 20.
