Visit Cardiff has released essential travel information for fans attending Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour at the Principality Stadium on June 18th. Gates will open at 4 PM, and a full city center road closure will be in effect from noon until midnight. However, Cowbridge Road East, Castle Street, and Duke Street will remain open until 3 PM.

Fans are urged to plan their journey in advance, as heavy traffic is expected on the M4 motorway. To avoid congestion, Visit Cardiff recommends using the park & ride service at Cardiff City Football Club in Leckwith (CF11 8AZ). Real-time traffic updates can be found on the Traffic Wales website or by following @TrafficWalesS on social media.

Road closures will begin at 7 AM to prepare Gate 5 and ensure the safety of queuing fans. From noon, the full city center closure will affect several major streets, including Kingsway, Tudor Street, and High Street. Additionally, Penarth Road will close 30 minutes before the concert ends and up to an hour afterward to facilitate train passenger safety.

Transport for Wales and Great Western Railway will provide additional services to accommodate concert-goers. Despite these measures, trains are expected to be busy, and a queuing system will be in place outside the station.

The park & ride service at Cardiff City Stadium will operate from 8:45 AM, with buses running until midnight. Parking costs £15, payable in cash. Event day parking is also available at the Civic Centre and Sophia Gardens, with prices ranging from £20 to £30.

Local bus services will be diverted due to road closures. Cyclists can use the cycleways within the closed areas but should be cautious due to the large number of attendees. Disabled parking is recommended at Sophia Gardens and other private car parks, with more details available on individual websites.

For taxi services, fans should be aware of different regulations for Hackney carriage and private hire vehicles. When traveling outside Cardiff, negotiate the fare with the driver beforehand. Complaints about overcharging or refusal of service can be reported to Cardiff Council with detailed information.
