Bangkok to Welcome New Ruby Hotel Inspired by 1920s Siam in 2027

Bangkok will become home to the first Ruby hotel in Thailand and the wider Asia Pacific region when the European brand opens its new property in 2027. The property will be located in Sathorn, one of the capital’s main commercial districts, where modern office buildings stand alongside restaurants, cultural attractions and busy shopping streets. Its arrival will provide another accommodation option for visitors looking to stay in central Bangkok.
The hotel is being developed by IHG Hotels & Resorts in partnership with Asset World Corporation, with a design inspired by the tropical glamour of 1920s Siam. The influence of that period will be reflected in a property that brings together historical details, modern accommodation and music-focused spaces in Bangkok’s Sathorn district:
- Opening: Scheduled for 2027.
- Location: Sathorn central business district, Bangkok.
- Accommodation: 184 guestrooms.
- Design: Interiors inspired by 1920s Siam.
- Concept: An urban lifestyle hotel combining contemporary accommodation with music and local cultural influences.
“Beyond providing exceptional stays, the hotel aims to create experiences that connect guests with the character of the destination while embracing communities through collaborations with local artists, social enterprises and the district’s creative ecosystem. Guided by AWC’s mission of Building Better Future, Ruby is designed to generate sustainable value for guests, communities, partners and shareholders, while contributing to sustainable tourism through community engagement, local economic participation and responsible destination development."
What Guests Can Expect From Bangkok’s New Ruby Hotel
The property will feature a 24-hour bar, live evening music performances and communal spaces designed for relaxation and socialising. Guestrooms will include Marshall speakers, oversized beds and rainfall showers, while guitars will be available to borrow. Self-service technology is also planned to simplify routine hotel procedures. Beyond these facilities, collaborations with local artists and creative organisations will introduce elements of Bangkok’s contemporary culture into the guest experience.
The surrounding Silom–Sathorn area provides access to several of Bangkok’s attractions. King Power Mahanakhon offers panoramic city views from its observation deck, while the colourful Sri Maha Mariamman Temple reflects the neighbourhood’s cultural diversity. Lumphini Park is a good place to escape Bangkok’s busy streets for a while, while nearby Silom Road has plenty of places to eat, shop or try local street food. BTS Skytrain and MRT connections provide additional options for reaching attractions elsewhere in the capital.
Once the hotel opens, visitors planning to stay in central Bangkok will have another option, particularly if they prefer a neighbourhood outside the city's busiest tourist districts. With public transport, places to eat and several cultural attractions nearby, Sathorn is worth considering for both short city breaks and longer stays. An opening date beyond 2027 has not been confirmed, and there is still no information on how much rooms will cost or when bookings will become available.
