SAS and Aeromexico have confirmed a new codeshare agreement that will take effect on 1 December 2025. The partnership links Scandinavia with Mexico through major gateways in the United States and Canada, creating easier ways to book long-distance trips on one ticket. Passengers will be able to travel with through-checked baggage and gain access to a wider shared network, strengthening cooperation between the two airlines.

Under the agreement, SAS customers can connect to Mexico City via hubs such as San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Miami, Seattle, Los Angeles, New York, Washington D.C., and Toronto. Aeromexico passengers will also be able to reach SAS destinations in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden on a single itinerary. The arrangement makes it simpler to move between Scandinavia and Mexico using existing transatlantic routes.

“The new codeshare agreement with Aeromexico strengthens SAS’ main hub in Copenhagen and provides access to several destinations in Mexico. Travelers can now reach Mexico City, Guadalajara, Cancun, and the country’s many historical and cultural sites. This expands connectivity to Europe, Asia and North America. With SAS’ reliable operations and strong on-time performance, journeys remain smooth and predictable."
Paul Verhagen, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at SAS

The agreement broadens the range of joint routes available to customers of both airlines and gives each carrier a stronger presence across the other’s main markets. Aeromexico customers gain a straightforward way to continue their journeys into Scandinavia, while SAS travellers can now link their transatlantic flights with Aeromexico’s domestic and regional network. Loyalty members on both sides will keep their usual advantages, including mileage earning, redemptions and access to premium services.

The cooperation opens up a range of familiar destinations in Mexico. Travellers can reach the beaches near Cancún, explore historic streets in Guadalajara, or spend time in the museums and neighbourhoods of Mexico City. On the Scandinavian side, clearer links through Oslo, Stockholm, and Copenhagen give access to fjords, coastal towns, and northern regions. Because the itinerary is shared and baggage is checked through, people do not need to manage as many separate steps during long journeys.

For those moving between the two regions, the new codeshare removes much of the hassle of combining several tickets. It also lets both airlines offer more options on routes that usually involve long connections. Sales begin on 1 December, with travel starting on 6 December. With both carriers using coordinated schedules, the arrangement gives passengers a clearer way to put together trips linking Scandinavia and Mexico without piecing everything together on their own.
