Air Europa Adds Two Spanish Routes

Air Europa has launched two new domestic routes from Madrid, adding direct services to Oviedo and Seville. Both routes began on 1 June and form part of the airline’s wider expansion across Spain. The move gives Madrid-Barajas more domestic links and adds extra options for people travelling between the Spanish capital, northern Spain and Andalusia.
The new Oviedo and Seville services will each run twice a day on Air Europa’s Boeing 737 aircraft. In 2026, the airline plans to operate more than 850 flights on each route, with over 153,000 seats available for each destination. The schedule is designed for regular travel, not only occasional holiday demand.
Air Europa has also increased its services to Rome and Milan, with both Italian cities now served three times a day. The higher frequencies are intended to support connections through Madrid-Barajas, including the airline’s long-haul network. A new route to Bologna is also planned for August, adding another Italian city to the summer schedule.
The Spanish additions are the clearest gain for domestic and international trips through Madrid. Oviedo gives easier access to Asturias, the Picos de Europa and northern coastal towns. Seville puts travellers closer to the Alcázar, the cathedral, flamenco venues and wider Andalusia, including Córdoba and Cádiz for longer journeys.
The airline is also rolling out service updates under its Air Europa ON plan, including faster satellite Wi-Fi, new amenities, an updated drinks menu and business-class meals on medium-haul routes with input from chef Mario Sandoval. With Oviedo and Seville added, Madrid becomes a more useful starting point for reaching two very different parts of Spain.
