Rail Europe, the foremost authority in European train bookings, proudly announces its recent affiliation as an associate member of the European Travel Commission (ETC). This collaboration bridges Europe's tourism boards with Rail Europe's dedication to sustainable transportation, heralding a new era for rail travel across the continent.

Amidst preliminary data for 2024 indicating a promising surge in European tourism and heightened consumer travel expenditures, Rail Europe's partnership with ETC underscores a shared commitment to a greener, more sustainable future. By aligning with ETC, Rail Europe gains access to a vast global B2B network, comprising tour operators, travel agencies, and management firms, aiming to propel rail travel to the forefront of transportation dialogues. This strategic alliance seeks to revolutionize travel dynamics, foster sustainable economic development, and bolster regional growth through collaborative promotional campaigns, market insights, and the exchange of best practices.

Expressing pride in the association, Rail Europe's CEO, Björn Bender, emphasizes the pivotal role in advocating for eco-friendly travel solutions, positioning rail as a cornerstone of European tourism. Eduardo Santander, CEO of the European Travel Commission, extends a warm welcome to Rail Europe, recognizing their extensive expertise in rail travel spanning over nine decades. Together, they aim to deepen cooperation between the rail and tourism sectors, benefitting travelers and the environment alike.

Under the Associate Membership Agreement, Rail Europe and ETC will embark on joint initiatives geared towards promoting sustainable travel and enriching travel experiences for both domestic and international tourists.
