Brussels Airlines is adding three Arctic destinations to its winter timetable, with scheduled flights to Kittilä and Kemi in Finland and Evenes in Norway. The airline says demand for winter trips to the far north has grown enough to move beyond mainly charter operations. The new services will give Brussels-based travellers direct access to Lapland and northern Norway during the 2026–27 winter season.

Where Brussels Airlines Is Flying North

  • Airline: Brussels Airlines
  • Departure airport: Brussels Airport
  • New destinations: Kittilä and Kemi in Finland; Evenes in Norway
  • Brussels–Kittilä: 10 December–27 March; three flights a week
  • Brussels–Kemi: 25 December–10 March; up to two flights a week
  • Brussels–Evenes: February and March; one flight a week
  • Service type: Scheduled passenger flights
  • Seasonality: Winter 2026–27
  • Main travel season: Skiing, northern lights and Arctic winter breaks
  • Charter flights: Brussels Airlines will continue operating Arctic charters with travel agencies
  • Booking: Tickets are on sale through Brussels Airlines and travel agencies

Brussels Airlines already serves Arctic destinations through charter flights arranged with travel agencies, but the new routes will be sold as regular scheduled services. The carrier is also using winter leisure flying to balance its highly seasonal network. Similar moves have included winter flights to four Canary Islands and year-round service to Funchal, while the Nordic additions extend that strategy into colder-weather holidays.

Kittilä puts Levi’s ski slopes, snowmobile routes and northern lights within easy reach, while Kemi is known for its winter SnowCastle and Gulf of Bothnia setting. Evenes provides a convenient arrival point for Narvik and northern Norway, where winter trips centre on fjords, skiing and aurora viewing. The three routes therefore cover quite different Arctic breaks rather than serving the same type of holiday.

The scheduled services make the Arctic routes easier to book without going through a tour operator. Kittilä will offer the most flexibility, with three weekly flights, while Kemi and Evenes will run on a more limited timetable. The new links give direct access to Finnish Lapland and northern Norway, although the smaller number of departures will shape dates for ski trips, aurora stays and winter breaks.
